Applying for a J-1 Visa
Once your application to Temple is accepted, ISSS will send you a Form DS-2019, which you will need to apply for your J-1 Visa. You can find the instructions for applying for a J-1 visa here.
SEVIS Fee
You must pay the Sevis fee if
- You are a first-time applicant for an F-1 or J-1 visa
- You have been out of status or out of the U. S. for more than 5 months
- You are applying for a different entry visa. For example, you were in the U.S. in J status and are now applying for an F-1 entry visa you are required to pay the SEVIS fee before your application for the entry visa made.
Once you pay the fee, print out several copies of the confirmation you receive. You will need at least 3-5 copies of proof of payment. See the following sites for additional details.
