Ann Frances Draemel holds a Master of Arts degree in TESL / applied linguistics from Iowa State University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in English literature and Spanish from Kansas State University. For four years, Ann taught English in primary and secondary schools throughout Spain and, since the fall of 2013, has been teaching in the IELP at Temple University. Learning about languages and cultures has always been a special hobby of Ann’s, and she has been able to pursue that passion at Temple. She believes that every ESL classroom is a microcosm of the world, an opportunity for students to learn from each other and establish global friendships.

Multi-lingual, occasionally musical, and fantastically purple, Miriam Oppenheimer loves questions. Her fellow teachers have called her "the Grammar Queen", but she prefers "Peace Empress". She has told jokes and surprised students at a variety of schools, including Ivy Leagues, in the US, Thailand, France, Benin, and more. Since 2008, Miriam has been leading Service-Learning class, where the students have enjoyed working at various charities around Philadelphia.

Sherri has been teaching English to international adults since 1987. She enjoys singing and playing guitar for her students and learning about their cultures from them. She is fluent in Spanish and likes to learn basic greetings in the languages of all of her students.

Ernie McCain has been teaching at Temple's Intensive English Language Program (TCALC) since 1999. He has a graduate degree in TESL (Teaching English as a Second Language) from UNCC. He served in the United States Army as a paratrooper. His interests range from powerlifting to wildlife conservation.

Manisha Kaw has a Bacholar's in English Literature, a Master's in TESOL, and a Doctorate in Second Language Acquisition (Cognitive Linguistics). Her continuing research is in the field of Applied Linguistics. She has a publication in Cognitive Linguistic Studies and has been reviewing academic manuscripts for MexTESOL Journal and Cognitive Linguistic Studies. She has been teaching at TCALC since 2010. Her favorite authors are James Joyce and Virginia Woolf. Her most favorite places are home, the library, the mountains, and the classroom—There is nowhere she would rather be!
