ISSS does not have the legal authority to provide assistance for individuals pursuing permanent residence. The information on this page is to provide general guidance. You should speak with a qualified immigration attorney with any questions you have regarding the permanent residence process.
ISSS strongly recommends that, if possible, you maintain your H-1B status until you receive your green card. Consult an immigration attorney before using Advance Parole or an Employment Authorization Document (EAD). ISSS holds that you are no longer maintaining H-1B status if you use an EAD to work outside the parameters of your H-1B petition.
