Permanent Residence (Green Card)

ISSS does not have the legal authority to provide assistance for individuals pursuing permanent residence. The information on this page is to provide general guidance. You should speak with a qualified immigration attorney with any questions you have regarding the permanent residence process.

ISSS recommends that, if possible, you maintain your H-1B status until you receive your “green card.” Consult an immigration attorney before using Advance Parole or an EAD. ISSS holds that you are no longer maintaining H-1B status if you use an EAD to work outside the parameters of your H-1B petition.
