Transportation to Philadelphia

Transportation to Philadelphia from New York/Newark:

There are many ways to travel to Philadelphia from New York or Newark.  If you would like to use public transportation you can call the New York Transit Authority at (718) 330-1234 for train schedules from New York to Philadelphia. Amtrak is also a good option.

There are many private transportation services available from various airports to Philadelphia; it is safe and comfortable and relatively inexpensive to take this form of transportation.   We recommend that you go to the airport information desk and ask for assistance in securing this service. 

Transportation to Temple from Philadelphia International Airport:
  • The cost of a taxi from the Philadelphia Airport to Temple University Main Campus is approximately $35.  There are many taxis waiting for passengers immediately outside of the airport.
  • Ride shares such as Uber and Lyft are always available as well.
  • You can also take the SEPTA Airport Line train straight to Temple University.  The fare is approximately $7.  Our office is about 6 blocks from the Temple University train station.  For more information on train schedules please click here

Personal safety is valued at Temple. Here are a few things that you can do to decrease the chances of becoming a victim of crime:

  • Do not carry or display large amounts of money or jewelry
  • Always carry traveler’s checks, redeemable for instant cash at most banks or stores or use major credit cards such as VISA, MasterCard or American Express
  • If you need to travel around the city at night, it is best to take a taxi to your destination until you become familiar with the city.
